Students will gain foundational reading skills as they learn about African wildlife and what it’s like to be on an African safari in this Guided Reading series. When you enjoy the topic, learning is ever more fun. This course funded in part by Sierra Club.
Description
Using stories featuring African wildlife, students will gain early reading skills. Activities include language and vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and learning great facts about wildlife. They will also learn introductory map skills. This on-line course combines direct instruction, videos, presentations, discussions, movement, and instructor created wildlife books for a variety of learning experiences. Teaching style is customized to meet students’ needs. Students will need to have knowledge of the English language, and be able to be instructed in an on-line format. Each 40 minute class follows the same lesson format, but features a different book and focuses on different African animals.
